According to Genesis 4,25 Seth was born as the third son of Adam and Eve. At that time Cain had already murdered Abel. Eve stated: “God has appointed for me another offspring instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.”

BackThe substitute for the murdered Cain
The first people recorded in the Bible, Adan and Eve are well known. The first two children born to the couple are also famous. Already the second generation saw a first murder. Cain murdered Abel, his brother since he was jealous of him due to the fact that the Lord accepted Abel’s burnt offering and refused Cains offering. For Adan and Eve the birth of Seth was an replacement for Abel.
Genesis 5:6-8 »When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh. After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.”
The first son Enos was born (-3769)
From 3874 BC to 3769 BC: Accoriding Gen 5:6 "And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:"
Enosh remain faithful to the Lord (-3669)
Th text in Genesis continues: “To Seth also, a son is born, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began to evoke the name of the Lord.” There is not more we know of Seth: Contrary to old testament custom, it is he and not his spouse who gave the name Enosh to their son. For Maimonides, Hebrew philosopher (1135 to 1204), this verse indicates the beginning of idolatry in the world. Enosh and a few others, such as Noah, Shem and Eber, were the only ones to remain faithful to the Lord.
